This restaurant has been mentioned by all the peolpe giving me tips before my Stockholm trip. The food was exquisite. We had the five course menu without the wine package. All the dishes were really good and  had the x-factor that you hope for. We were blown away by each course. The staff was warm, authentic and charming. Maybe the courses were served a little bit too fast? Another minor downer was the furniture. I am not that comfortable with sitting on a wooden bar stool for that long. It is probably in line with the whole bistro look, but it is not comfy. Have a drink before or after in The Cadier Bar.

Matbaren is a modern bistro, an informal restaurant in keeping with the times. Enjoy one or more medium-sized dishes and accompanying wines by the glass, either served at a table or up at our large bar counter. Based on the very best of fresh seasonal produce, our menu changes on a daily basis. Feel free to stop by – we always keep a few seats available at the bar. (Grand Hotel)

This popular hotel restaurant is both fun and charmingly run. The open kitchen specialises in flavoursome, well-balanced dishes from an appealing menu divided into the headings ‘From our country’, ‘From other countries’ and ‘From the plant world’. They keep some seats at the counter for those who haven’t booked. (Michelin Guide)
